Leaders in Home Building

Article from Welcome Home Magazine Des Moines

Designing and Building Homes With the Utmost Care.

There’s a reason why people want to build. The desire to have a space that reflects their specific wants, needs, and for it to truly feel like home. The attention to craftsmanship and design is essential to achieving the difference between a house and a home. That’s the difference homeowners experience with Serenity Homes.

Serenity Homes is owned and operated by Ryan and Holly Baumgartel, who bring more than 20 years worth of building and design expertise to their clients’ projects. Ryan serves as the contractor, overseeing and working alongside a dedicated and consistent crew. Holly is the interior designer, serving as the conduit between clients’ ideas and a cohesive, beautiful aesthetic. Her all-inclusive interior design services remove the overwhelm that many feel when building and designing a home.

What Ryan and Holly do differently is attention to detail. Architectural and structural details are planned and executed with precision. They take home building and design seriously and understand the significance of the work they do for clients. Jobs and tasks aren’t passed off to others—they are involved in every aspect of the project. This is evident by Serenity Homes winning the People's Choice Best Home Builder Award by Des Moines Radio Group in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

Ryan and Holly lead with intelligence, energy, passion, and a commitment to high standards. One of their recent clients describes their family’s homebuilding experience: “We knew after the first time meeting with Ryan and Holly that they are people who genuinely care about their clients and put every ounce of who they are into each project. Ryan is an absolute work horse and Holly is a wizard with design, making them the perfect team! They treat every build as if they are building their own home and it shows in every part of the process.”

Careful planning and thoughtful design take time. Serenity Homes only commits to a limited amount of projects they feel they can personally be involved with for the year. Will you be one of the lucky few?
